St Aldates Church

We believe that the goal of all mankind is to "glorify God and enjoy Him forever". This is why worship is central to all that we do at St Aldates and is a calling, which touches and facilitates many of the other ministries in the church. It is a great way to get plugged into the life of the church, develop the gifts God has given us and help lead the church into deeper places of intimacy and ministry. The team is headed up by Lauren Keenan and Rich White, who have a passion to raise up a vision for worship in the local church.

Sunday gatherings

Worship in song at Sunday gatherings is led by a band. These bands are loosely set with a worship leader for musical and relational continuity and are made up of students and other members of the church body. Rotas are sent out in the preceding month. Sound checks on Sundays are at 8.30am and 4pm for the morning and evening service respectively. Practices for the 8.15pm service are held on Wednesday nights. Student worship

Worship for Risky Living and other student-related events is led by a band and organised on a rota basis. Practices for these nights are held on Thursdays before Risky Living.

Youth worship

Worship for Reality and other youth-related events is led by a band and organised on a rota basis. Practices are held on Saturday nights before the start of Reality.

Children’s Church worship

Worship for 5-10s is led by a band and is organised on a rota basis. Practices for these times occur before the morning service.

Pastorate worship

Worship at Pastorates is led by a single worship leader on Wednesday nights and is overseen and resourced by the worship department.

Audio-visual team

Worship for most of these events requires the services of trained sound and visuals operators. We are always looking for new members of the team to help us with this. Full training is provided.

Getting involved

There is a wide variety of other opportunities to get stuck into: Hungry, Daily Prayer Meetings, Wednesday Women, ACT! and Alpha. Each requires skilled, sensitive worship leaders.

We hold annual auditions each October for anyone wanting to get involved. If you would like to be part of the worship team, please contact us.
